The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
When the sun is folded up, 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 and when the mountains are made to vanish, 3 When the she-camels, ten months with young, are left untended; 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 When the oceans surge and swell, 6 when the souls shall be rejoined (with their bodies), 7 And when the girl-child who was buried alive is asked. 8 Upon what sin was she killed for. 9 And when the pages are laid open, 10 when heaven is stripped, 11 And when hell is lighted, 12 And when the garden is brought nigh, 13 (Then) every soul will know what it had prepared (for itself). 14 But nay! I swear by the stars, 15 Moving swiftly and hiding themselves, 16 by the night swarming, 17 And by the dawn as it brightens; 18 Truly, this is the word brought by a noble messenger, 19 [Who is] possessed of power and with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position], 20 [the word] of one to be heeded, and worthy of trust! 21 Your companion is not possessed; 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 Nor of the unseen is he a tenacious concealer. 24 Nor is this the utterance of a devil worthy to be stoned. 25 Then where are you going? 26 It is not except a reminder to the worlds 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 But ye shall not will except as Allah wills,- the Cherisher of the Worlds. 29
