The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun shall be darkened, 1 The stars turn dim and scatter, 2 the mountains are scattered about as dust, 3 when ten-month pregnant camels are left untended, 4 the wild beasts are herded together, 5 and when the seas are set on fire, 6 And when souls are reunited, 7 And when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 for what crime she had been slain, 9 When the scrolls are laid open; 10 and when heaven is laid bare, 11 when Hell shall be set blazing, 12 And when the garden is brought nigh, 13 Then every soul shall know that which it hath presented. 14 I do not need to swear by the orbiting 15 And by the planets that move swiftly and hide themselves, 16 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 17 And by the dawn as it brightens; 18 truly this is the word of a noble Messenger 19 Full of power, well-established (in position) with the Lord and Master of the Throne, 20 One (to be) obeyed, and faithful in trust. 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 He (Muhammad) is not accused of lying about the unseen. 24 And the Qur'an is not the word of a devil, expelled [from the heavens]. 25 Where then will you go? 26 That is but an advice to the entire creation! 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 However, you will not be able to choose anything unless God, Lord of the Universe wills it to be so. 29
