The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
WHEN THE SUN is shrouded in darkness, 1 when the stars shall be thrown down, 2 The mountains made to move, 3 when the ten-months pregnant camels shall be abandoned, 4 when the savage beasts are gathered 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 And when the souls shall be joined with their bodies; 7 And when the girl-child that was buried alive is asked 8 For what crime she was killed; 9 And when the written pages of deeds (good and bad) of every person shall be laid open; 10 And when the heaven has its covering removed, 11 And when the Scorch shall be made to blaze, 12 And when the Garden shall be brought nigh, 13 then, each soul shall know what it has produced. 14 So verily, I swear by the planets that recede (i.e. disappear during the day and appear during the night). 15 Who move straight and stop. 16 and the night that falls, 17 And by oath of the morning when it takes birth. 18 Verily this is the word of a most honourable Messenger, 19 Full of power, well-established (in position) with the Lord and Master of the Throne, 20 The one who is obeyed, and trustworthy. (Other angels obey angel Jibreel). 21 And your comrade is not mad. 22 He had surely seen Him on the clear horizon. 23 And Muhammad is not a withholder of [knowledge of] the unseen. 24 Nor is this [message] the word of any satanic force accursed. 25 So where are you going? 26 Verily, this (the Quran) is no less than a Reminder to (all) the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). 27 for whosoever of you who would go straight; 28 And you will not, unless (it be) that Allah wills, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 29
