The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
When the sun shall be folded up, 1 And when the stars shall fall; 2 and when the mountains are moved, 3 when the ten-months pregnant camels shall be abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts are herded together, 5 when the seas are set boiling, 6 And when the souls shall be joined with their bodies; 7 And when the female (infant) buried alive (as the pagan Arabs used to do) shall be questioned. 8 for what crime she had been slain, 9 when the records of men's deeds are laid open, 10 and when heaven is laid bare, 11 And when the Scorch shall be made to blaze, 12 when Paradise is brought near, 13 Every soul shall (then) know what it has prepared. 14 No indeed; I swear by the alternating stars 15 Moving swiftly and hiding themselves, 16 And by the night as it departs; 17 And the Dawn as it breathes away the darkness;- 18 This is indeed the recitation of an honoured Noble Messenger. (Angel Jibreel – peace and blessings be upon him.) 19 Full of power, well-established (in position) with the Lord and Master of the Throne, 20 Obeyed one; then trustworthy. 21 And your companion is not gone mad. 22 he truly saw him on the clear horizon; 23 Nor of the unseen is he a tenacious concealer. 24 This is not the utterance of an accursed devil. 25 Whither then will you go? 26 It is not except a reminder to the worlds 27 for whosoever of you would go straight, 28 And ye shall not will unless it be that Allah, the Lord of the worlds, willeth. 29
