The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun shall be darkened, 1 And when the stars darken, 2 and when the mountains are moved, 3 when the pregnant camels are neglected, 4 And when the wild beasts are herded together, 5 when the seas are set boiling, 6 And when the souls he paired, 7 when the buried infant shall be asked 8 for what crime she had been slain, 9 When the ledgers are laid open, 10 and when heaven is laid bare, 11 And when Hellfire is set ablaze 12 And when Paradise is brought near, 13 A soul will [then] know what it has brought [with it]. 14 I do not need to swear by the orbiting 15 Those that run [their courses] and disappear - 16 and the night as it darkly falls, 17 and brightening morning, 18 Verily, this is the Word (this Quran brought by) a most honourable messenger [Jibrael (Gabriel), from Allah to the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)]. 19 one mighty and held in honour with the Lord of the Throne; 20 who is obeyed there and is worthy of trust. 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 Neither doth he withhold grudgingly a knowledge of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this the word of a stoned satan. 25 So where are you going? 26 Verily, this (the Quran) is no less than a Reminder to (all) the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). 27 For whoever wills among you to take a right course. 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Lord of the Universe, so wills it [to show you that way]. 29
