The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sunlight is rolled up. 1 And when the stars fall down. 2 the mountains are scattered about as dust, 3 And when full-term she-camels are neglected 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together, 5 And when the seas shall be filled, 6 And when the souls are paired. 7 When the female (infant), buried alive, is questioned - 8 For what sin she was killed, 9 when the records of men's deeds are laid open, 10 when heaven is stripped, 11 and when Hell is set ablaze, 12 And Paradise brought near, 13 Every soul shall (then) know what it has prepared. 14 I do not need to swear by the orbiting 15 And by the planets that move swiftly and hide themselves, 16 The closing night, 17 and the morn as it softly breathes: 18 it is indeed the word of an Honorable Messenger, 19 Full of power, well-established (in position) with the Lord and Master of the Throne, 20 [the word] of one to be heeded, and worthy of trust! 21 And (O people) your companion (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) is not a madman; 22 And indeed he saw him on the clear horizon. (Prophet Mohammed saw Angel Jibreel in his true shape – peace and blessings be upon them). 23 And he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) withholds not a knowledge of the unseen. 24 Nor is this the word of an outcast devil. 25 where then are you going? 26 Verily this is no less than a Message to (all) the Worlds: 27 For those of you who desire to walk the path that is straight, 28 And you do not please except that Allah please, the Lord of the worlds. 29
