The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
When the sun shall be darkened, 1 The stars turn dim and scatter, 2 and the mountains have been taken, 3 when ten-month pregnant camels are left untended, 4 when the savage beasts shall be brought together, 5 and when the seas boil over, 6 when the souls shall be rejoined (with their bodies), 7 And when the girl-child who was buried alive is asked. 8 For what sin she was killed? 9 When the scrolls are laid open; 10 The curtain drawn back from the skies, 11 hell is made to blaze, 12 And when the Garden is brought nigh, 13 then every soul will discover the consequence of its deeds. 14 Oh, but I call to witness the planets, 15 And by the planets that move swiftly and hide themselves, 16 And the Night as it dissipates; 17 And by the dawn as it brightens; 18 Most surely it is the Word of an honored messenger, 19 of power, given a rank by the Owner of the Throne 20 Obeyed (by the angels), trustworthy there (in the heavens). 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 And of a truth he saw himself on the clear horizon. 23 and he is not one to begrudge others the knowledge [of whatever has been revealed to him] out of that which is beyond the reach of human Perception. 24 The Quran is not the word of condemned satan. 25 Whither, then, will you go? 26 That is but an advice to the entire creation! 27 to everyone of you who wills to walk a straight way. 28 but you shall not, unless Allah wills, the Lord of all the Worlds. 29
