The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun Kuwwirat (wound round and lost its light and is overthrown). 1 when the stars shall be thrown down, 2 and when the mountains are moved, 3 And when milch camels roam abandoned. 4 When the wild beasts are herded together (in the human habitations); 5 And when the seas are set afire. 6 souls are reunited with their bodies, 7 And when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 such as, "For what crime were they murdered?" 9 And when the written pages of deeds (good and bad) of every person shall be laid open; 10 When the world on High is unveiled; 11 And when the Scorch shall be made to blaze, 12 when Paradise is brought close: 13 (Then) every soul will know what it had prepared (for itself). 14 So, I call the receding stars to witness, 15 The planets withdrawing into themselves, 16 And the night when it departs, 17 And by the dawn when it breathes 18 [That] indeed, the Qur'an is a word [conveyed by] a noble messenger 19 one mighty and held in honour with the Lord of the Throne; 20 who is obeyed there and is worthy of trust. 21 Your companion is not one possessed: 22 in truth he saw him (Gabriel) on the clear horizon, 23 And Muhammad is not a withholder of [knowledge of] the unseen. 24 And it (the Quran) is not the word of the outcast Shaitan (Satan). 25 Whither then go ye? 26 This is naught but an admonition unto the worlds 27 To whomsoever among you who wills to walk straight, 28 And what will you wish, except if Allah wills – the Lord of the Creation. 29
