The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sunlight is rolled up. 1 when the stars shall be thrown down, 2 the mountains are scattered about as dust, 3 When the she-camels, ten months with young, are left untended; 4 And when wild animals are herded together. 5 And when the seas shall become as blazing Fire or shall overflow; 6 And when souls are united, 7 And when the girl-child that was buried alive is asked 8 for what sin she was slain, 9 And when the written pages of deeds (good and bad) of every person shall be laid open; 10 And when the sky is torn away, 11 and Hell is stoked, 12 And when the Garden is brought nigh, 13 Every soul will then come know what it has brought. 14 No! I swear by the slinkers, 15 the runners, the sinkers, 16 by the night swarming, 17 and the morn as it breathes. 18 that the Quran is the word of the honorable angelic, mighty Messenger 19 The mighty, the honoured in the presence of the Lord of the Throne. 20 there he is obeyed and held trustworthy. 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 He had surely seen Him on the clear horizon. 23 He (Muhammad) is not accused of lying about the unseen. 24 Nor is this the word of a stoned satan. 25 Then where are you going? 26 This is nothing but a Reminder to the worlds, 27 For him among you who pleases to go straight. 28 but will you shall not, unless God wills, the Lord of all Being. 29
