The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun is folded up, 1 And when the stars fall, dispersing, 2 And when the mountains are removed 3 And when the camels big with young are abandoned, 4 when the savage beasts are gathered 5 the oceans are brought to a boil, 6 when the souls shall be coupled, 7 And when the girl-child who was buried alive is asked. 8 for what crime she was slain, 9 And when the pages are laid open, 10 and when heaven is laid bare, 11 hell is made to blaze, 12 And when the Garden shall be brought nigh, 13 then shall each person know what he has brought along. 14 So I swear by the retreating stars - 15 orbiting, disappearing; 16 by the night swarming, 17 and brightening morning, 18 Most surely it is the Word of an honored messenger, 19 one mighty and held in honour with the Lord of the Throne; 20 there he is obeyed and held trustworthy. 21 And your companion is not gone mad. 22 And indeed he saw him on the clear horizon. (Prophet Mohammed saw Angel Jibreel in his true shape – peace and blessings be upon them). 23 Neither doth he withhold grudgingly a knowledge of the Unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of an evil spirit accursed. 25 So where are you going? 26 Verily, this (the Quran) is no less than a Reminder to (all) the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). 27 for whosoever of you would go straight, 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Lord of the Universe, so wills it [to show you that way]. 29
