The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
(On the day) when the sun is made to cease shining, 1 And when the stars fall, dispersing, 2 and when the mountains are moved, 3 And when the camels are left untended, 4 And when the wild beasts are herded together, 5 When the oceans surge and swell, 6 And when the souls he paired, 7 and when the girl-child that was buried alive is made to ask 8 Upon what sin was she killed for. 9 When the ledgers are laid open, 10 when heaven is stripped, 11 and when the blazing fire [of hell] is kindled bright, 12 And when Paradise is brought near. 13 then every soul will discover the consequence of its deeds. 14 No indeed; I swear by the alternating stars 15 Those that run [their courses] and disappear - 16 and by the night as it recedes, 17 by the dawn sighing, 18 behold, this [divine writ] is indeed the [inspired] word of a noble apostle, 19 The mighty, the honoured in the presence of the Lord of the Throne. 20 Obeyed (by the angels), trustworthy there (in the heavens). 21 Nor is your companion distracted. 22 Surely he beheld Him on the clear horizon. 23 And he is of the unseen not a tenacious concealer. 24 Nor is it the word of the cursed Shaitan, 25 Where then are you going? 26 This is naught but an admonition unto the worlds 27 to every one of you who wishes to tread the straight path. 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Sustainer of all the worlds, wills [to show you that way]. 29
