The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
When the sunlight is rolled up. 1 And when the stars shall dart down, 2 when the mountains shall be set in motion, 3 the young barren camels are abandoned, 4 And when the wild animals are made to go forth, 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 And when souls are united, 7 And the little girl buried alive is asked 8 for what crime she had been slain, 9 when the scrolls are unrolled, 10 and when Heaven is laid bare; 11 And when hell is lighted, 12 when Paradise is brought near, 13 (Then) every soul will know what it had prepared (for itself). 14 Oh, but I call to witness the planets, 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 and the night that falls, 17 And by the dawn as it brightens; 18 it is indeed the word of an Honorable Messenger, 19 The processor of strength, having an honorable place with the Lord of the Dominion, 20 The one who is obeyed, and trustworthy. (Other angels obey angel Jibreel). 21 And your companion is not insane. 22 He had surely seen Him on the clear horizon. 23 nor does he grudge (conveying this knowledge about) the Unseen; 24 Nor is this [message] the word of any satanic force accursed. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 That is but an advice to the entire creation! 27 for whosoever of you who would go straight; 28 And you do not will except that Allah wills - Lord of the worlds. 29
