The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
When the sun is folded up, 1 And when the stars shall dart down, 2 when the mountains shall be set moving, 3 when the ten-months pregnant camels shall be abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts are gathered 5 when the seas are set boiling, 6 And when souls are reunited, 7 and when the girl-child that was buried alive is made to ask 8 For what crime she was killed; 9 And when the pages are made public 10 The curtain drawn back from the skies, 11 When the Blazing Fire is kindled to fierce heat; 12 and Paradise brought nigh: 13 then, each soul shall know what it has produced. 14 So by oath of those that revolve. (The planets.) 15 Who move straight and stop. 16 And by the night as it departs; 17 And by oath of the morning when it takes birth. 18 Verily this is the word of a noble message-bearer; 19 one mighty and held in honour with the Lord of the Throne; 20 obeyed by (all creatures) and faithful to His trust. 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 he is not niggardly of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this the word of an outcast devil. 25 Whither, then, will you go? 26 That is but an advice to the entire creation! 27 For those of you who desire to walk the path that is straight, 28 And ye shall not will unless it be that Allah, the Lord of the worlds, willeth. 29
