The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
When the sun is folded up, 1 And when the stars fall, dispersing, 2 when the mountains shall be set in motion, 3 when ten-month pregnant camels are left untended, 4 The wild beasts stampede on the run, 5 And when the seas shall become as blazing Fire or shall overflow; 6 And when the souls shall be joined with their bodies; 7 questions are asked about the baby girls buried alive, 8 for what sin she was slain, 9 the records of deeds are made public, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped, 11 and when Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when Paradise is brought near, 13 (Then) every soul will know what it had prepared (for itself). 14 I do not need to swear by the orbiting 15 Go straight, or hide; 16 And by the night as it closes in 17 and the first breath of morning. 18 [That] indeed, the Qur'an is a word [conveyed by] a noble messenger 19 of power, given a rank by the Owner of the Throne 20 (One) to be obeyed, and trustworthy; 21 And (O people!) your companion is not one possessed; 22 he truly beheld him [the angel] on the clear horizon. 23 He is not avid of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this the word of a stoned satan. 25 So where are you going? 26 It is nothing but Good Counsel for everyone in the world, 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 but you shall not, unless Allah wills, the Lord of all the Worlds. 29
