The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
WHEN THE SUN is folded up, 1 when the stars shall be thrown down, 2 and the mountains have been taken, 3 The ten-month pregnant female camels are abandoned, 4 when the savage beasts are gathered 5 And when the seas shall become as blazing Fire or shall overflow; 6 And when souls are united, 7 questions are asked about the baby girls buried alive, 8 For what crime she was put to death; 9 And when the Writs shall be lain open, 10 and when heaven is laid bare, 11 when Hell is set ablaze, 12 And Paradise brought near, 13 (Then) every person will know what he has brought (of good and evil). 14 I do not need to swear by the orbiting 15 Moving swiftly and hiding themselves, 16 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 17 And the Dawn as it breathes away the darkness;- 18 Verily this is the word of a most honourable Messenger, 19 who is honored in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 With authority there, (and) faithful to his trust. 21 Nor is your companion distracted. 22 And without doubt he saw him in the clear horizon. 23 And Muhammad is not a withholder of [knowledge of] the unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of an evil spirit accursed. 25 Where to are you then heading? 26 Verily this is no less than a Message to (all) the Worlds: 27 For him among you who pleases to go straight. 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Lord of the Universe, so wills it [to show you that way]. 29
