The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun is folded up, 1 And when the stars shall fall; 2 and the mountains have been taken, 3 and when she-camels big with young, about to give birth, are left untended, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 And when the souls are paired. 7 and when the girl-child that was buried alive is made to ask 8 Upon what sin was she killed for. 9 And when the Writs shall be lain open, 10 And when the heaven has its covering removed, 11 and Hell is stoked, 12 when Paradise shall be brought nigh, 13 Every soul will then come know what it has brought. 14 Oh, but I call to witness the planets, 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 and the night as it darkly falls, 17 And the Dawn as it breathes away the darkness;- 18 Verily, this is the Word (this Quran brought by) a most honourable messenger [Jibrael (Gabriel), from Allah to the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)]. 19 Owner of power, and high rank with (Allah) the Lord of the Throne, 20 Obeyed one; then trustworthy. 21 Your Companion is not mad, 22 he truly beheld him [the angel] on the clear horizon. 23 And this Prophet is not miserly upon the hidden. (Allah gave the knowledge of the hidden to the Holy Prophet – peace and blessings be upon him.) 24 Nor is it the word of the cursed Shaitan, 25 Where to are you then heading? 26 This is a reminder for all the peoples of the world, 27 To whomsoever among you who wills to walk straight, 28 However, you will not be able to choose anything unless God, Lord of the Universe wills it to be so. 29
