The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
When the sun shall be wound round, 1 And when the stars shall dart down, 2 And when the hills are moved, 3 And when the pregnant she-camels shall be neglected; 4 the wild beasts are herded together, 5 And when the seas shall become as blazing Fire or shall overflow; 6 when the souls shall be rejoined (with their bodies), 7 And the little girl buried alive is asked 8 for what crime she was slain, 9 and when the scrolls [of men's deeds] are unfolded, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped, 11 And when Hellfire is set ablaze 12 And when Paradise is brought near, 13 then shall each person know what he has brought along. 14 So by oath of those that revolve. (The planets.) 15 Who move straight and stop. 16 and sit during the day, or by the darkening night 17 And by the dawn as it brightens; 18 Verily this is the word of a most honourable Messenger, 19 with strength endowed, secure with Him who in almightiness is enthroned 20 With authority there, (and) faithful to his trust. 21 And your comrade is not mad. 22 And indeed he saw him on the clear horizon. (Prophet Mohammed saw Angel Jibreel in his true shape – peace and blessings be upon them). 23 he is not niggardly of the Unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of an evil spirit accursed. 25 When whither go ye? 26 This is merely a reminder to all mankind; 27 For the one among you who wishes to become upright. 28 but you shall not, unless Allah wills, the Lord of all the Worlds. 29
