Al-Takweer
The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun shall be darkened, 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 And when the mountains shall made to pass away; 3 And when the she-camels big with young shall be abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts are gathered 5 When the oceans surge and swell, 6 and when all human beings are coupled [with their deeds,] 7 and when the girl-child buried alive shall be asked: 8 for what crime she was slain, 9 And when the Writs shall be lain open, 10 And when the sky is stripped away 11 When Hell is set ablaze, 12 And Paradise brought near, 13 [then] each soul shall know what it has put forward. 14 So verily, I swear by the planets that recede (i.e. disappear during the day and appear during the night). 15 stars which are visible during the night 16 and sit during the day, or by the darkening night 17 And by the dawn as it brightens; 18 Verily this is the word of a noble message-bearer; 19 [Who is] possessed of power and with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position], 20 there he is obeyed and held trustworthy. 21 And your comrade is not mad. 22 he truly saw him on the clear horizon; 23 he is not grudging of the Unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of the cursed Shaitan, 25 Whither then go ye? 26 This is nothing but a Reminder to the worlds, 27 For whoever wills among you to take a right course. 28 And you do not please except that Allah please, the Lord of the worlds. 29
