The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun is folded up, 1 When the stars fall, losing their lustre; 2 when the mountains shall be set moving, 3 And when the camels big with young are abandoned, 4 The wild beasts stampede on the run, 5 and when the seas boil over, 6 and when all human beings are coupled [with their deeds,] 7 questions are asked about the baby girls buried alive, 8 For what crime she was killed; 9 when the records of men's deeds are laid open, 10 When the world on High is unveiled; 11 When the Blazing Fire is kindled to fierce heat; 12 And when the Garden shall be brought nigh, 13 then, each soul shall know what it has produced. 14 No! I swear by the slinkers, 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 by the night when it approaches 17 And the morning when it brightens, 18 Most surely it is the Word of an honored messenger, 19 Owner of power, and high rank with (Allah) the Lord of the Throne, 20 With authority there, (and) faithful to his trust. 21 And (O people!) your companion is not one possessed; 22 he truly saw him on the clear horizon; 23 he is not niggardly of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this the word of a stoned satan. 25 So where are you going? 26 This is a reminder for all the peoples of the world, 27 for everyone of you who wishes to follow the Straight Way; 28 but your wishing will not avail unless Allah, the Lord of the Universe, so wishes. 29
