The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
WHEN THE SUN is folded up, 1 And when the stars shall fall; 2 and the mountains have been taken, 3 And when full-term she-camels are neglected 4 And when wild animals are herded together. 5 And when the seas rise, 6 And when the souls are paired. 7 and when the girl-child buried alive shall be asked: 8 For what sin she was slain, 9 And when the Writs shall be lain open, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped off and taken away from its place; 11 and Hell is stoked, 12 And Paradise brought near, 13 (Then) every soul will know what it hath made ready. 14 So verily, I swear by the planets that recede (i.e. disappear during the day and appear during the night). 15 Moving swiftly and hiding themselves, 16 And the close of night, 17 And by the dawn when it breathes 18 Verily it is a Word brought by a messenger honoured, 19 one mighty and held in honour with the Lord of the Throne; 20 obeyed, and honest. 21 Your companion is not possessed; 22 He certainly saw him (Gabriel) high up on the horizon in his original form 23 And he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) withholds not a knowledge of the unseen. 24 nor is it a word of an accursed Satan. 25 When whither go ye? 26 Verily this is no less than a Message to (all) the Worlds: 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 And you do not will except that Allah wills - Lord of the worlds. 29
True are the words of God the Almighty.
