The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
(On the day) when the sun is made to cease shining, 1 And when the stars fall, 2 And when the mountains shall made to pass away; 3 And when the she-camels big with young shall be abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts are herded together, 5 And when the seas shall be filled, 6 when the souls shall be rejoined (with their bodies), 7 and when the girl-child buried alive shall be asked: 8 For what sin she was slain, 9 And when the pages are laid open, 10 and when Heaven is laid bare; 11 And when the hell is kindled up, 12 And when Paradise shall be brought near, 13 (Then) every soul will know what it hath made ready. 14 But nay! I swear by the stars, 15 That run their course (and) hide themselves, 16 and the night as it darkly falls, 17 And by oath of the morning when it takes birth. 18 behold, this [divine writ] is indeed the [inspired] word of a noble apostle, 19 Owner of power, and high rank with (Allah) the Lord of the Throne, 20 Obeyed there [in the heavens] and trustworthy. 21 And (O people) your companion (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) is not a madman; 22 And he has already seen Gabriel in the clear horizon. 23 And he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) withholds not a knowledge of the unseen. 24 nor is it a word of an accursed Satan. 25 Then where are you going? 26 This is naught but an admonition unto the worlds 27 For the one among you who wishes to become upright. 28 And you will not, unless (it be) that Allah wills, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 29
