The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
When the sun is overthrown, 1 And when the stars fall, dispersing, 2 When the mountains vanish (like a mirage); 3 the young barren camels are abandoned, 4 When the wild beasts are herded together (in the human habitations); 5 And when the seas are set afire. 6 And when the souls are paired 7 and when the girl-child buried alive shall be asked: 8 For what crime she was put to death; 9 when the records of men's deeds are laid open, 10 the heavens are unveiled, 11 when Hell is set ablaze, 12 And Paradise brought near, 13 A soul will [then] know what it has brought [with it]. 14 But nay! I swear by the stars, 15 The stars which rise and set, 16 and sit during the day, or by the darkening night 17 And by the dawn when it breathes 18 behold, this [divine writ] is indeed the [inspired] word of a noble apostle, 19 one mighty and held in honour with the Lord of the Throne; 20 there he is obeyed and held trustworthy. 21 And your companion is not [at all] mad. 22 he truly saw him on the clear horizon; 23 Neither doth he withhold grudgingly a knowledge of the Unseen. 24 The Quran is not the word of condemned satan. 25 So where are you going? 26 Verily, this (the Quran) is no less than a Reminder to (all) the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). 27 (With profit) to whoever among you wills to go straight: 28 And you do not will except that Allah wills - Lord of the worlds. 29
