The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun is folded up, 1 And when the stars fall down. 2 And when the hills are moved, 3 And when full-term she-camels are neglected 4 And when the wild beasts are herded together, 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 souls are reunited with their bodies, 7 And the little girl buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was slain. 9 When the scrolls are laid open; 10 and when heaven is laid bare, 11 hell is made to blaze, 12 And when the Garden is brought nigh, 13 (Then) every person will know what he has brought (of good and evil). 14 I swear by the receding stars, 15 Who move straight and stop. 16 and the night as it darkly falls, 17 by the dawn sighing, 18 Truly, this is the word brought by a noble messenger, 19 The mighty, the honoured in the presence of the Lord of the Throne. 20 Obeyed there [in the heavens] and trustworthy. 21 Your Companion is not mad, 22 And of a truth he saw himself on the clear horizon. 23 And he is of the unseen not a tenacious concealer. 24 nor is it a word of an accursed Satan. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 It is naught but a Reminder unto all beings, 27 to everyone of you who wills to walk a straight way. 28 However, you will not be able to choose anything unless God, Lord of the Universe wills it to be so. 29
