The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
When the sunlight is rolled up. 1 And when the stars shall fall; 2 When the mountains vanish (like a mirage); 3 when ten-month pregnant camels are left untended, 4 The wild beasts stampede on the run, 5 And when the seas shall be filled, 6 when the souls shall be rejoined (with their bodies), 7 And when the girl-child who was buried alive is asked. 8 for what crime she had been slain, 9 and when the scrolls of (men's) deeds shall be unfolded, 10 When the world on High is unveiled; 11 when Hell shall be set blazing, 12 And when the Garden is brought nigh, 13 then shall each person know what he has brought along. 14 No indeed; I swear by the alternating stars 15 Moving swiftly and hiding themselves, 16 and sit during the day, or by the darkening night 17 And the Dawn as it breathes away the darkness;- 18 That this is in truth the word of an honoured messenger, 19 one mighty and held in honour with the Lord of the Throne; 20 Obeyed (by the angels), trustworthy there (in the heavens). 21 And your companion is not insane. 22 And he has already seen Gabriel in the clear horizon. 23 He is not avid of the Unseen. 24 And it (the Quran) is not the word of the outcast Shaitan (Satan). 25 where then are you going? 26 It is nothing but Good Counsel for everyone in the world, 27 for whosoever of you would go straight, 28 But ye shall not will except as Allah wills,- the Cherisher of the Worlds. 29
