The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun Kuwwirat (wound round and lost its light and is overthrown). 1 And when the stars fall down. 2 and when the mountains are made to vanish, 3 When the she-camels, ten months with young, are left untended; 4 And when the wild beasts are gathered 5 When the oceans surge and swell, 6 And when the souls are paired 7 and when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was slain, 9 and when the scrolls of (men's) deeds shall be unfolded, 10 and when heaven is laid bare, 11 when Hell shall be set blazing, 12 and Paradise brought nigh: 13 (Then) every person will know what he has brought (of good and evil). 14 BUT NAY! I call to witness the revolving stars, 15 Go straight, or hide; 16 And the night when it departs, 17 The rising dawn, 18 that the Quran is the word of the honorable angelic, mighty Messenger 19 endowed with power and held in honour by the Lord of the Throne -- 20 The one who is obeyed, and trustworthy. (Other angels obey angel Jibreel). 21 Your companion (Muhammad) does not suffer from any mental illness 22 he truly beheld [the angel - beheld] him on the clear horizon; 23 he is not grudging of the Unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of the cursed Shaitan, 25 So where are you going? 26 This is nothing but a Reminder to the worlds, 27 for whosoever of you would go straight, 28 but your wishing will not avail unless Allah, the Lord of the Universe, so wishes. 29
