The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun is wound up; 1 And when the stars shall fall; 2 And when the hills are moved, 3 The ten-month pregnant female camels are abandoned, 4 the wild beasts are herded together, 5 the oceans are brought to a boil, 6 When souls are reunited (with the bodies) 7 when the buried female infant is asked 8 For what sin she was slain. 9 And when the Writs shall be lain open, 10 And when the sky is torn away, 11 hell is made to blaze, 12 And Paradise brought near, 13 Every soul shall (then) know what it has prepared. 14 I do not need to swear by the orbiting 15 The planets withdrawing into themselves, 16 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 17 And the Dawn as it breathes away the darkness;- 18 This is indeed the recitation of an honoured Noble Messenger. (Angel Jibreel – peace and blessings be upon him.) 19 Owner of strength, of established dignity with the Lord of the Throne. 20 Obeyed one; then trustworthy. 21 Your Companion is not mad, 22 he indeed saw the message-bearer on the clear horizon; 23 And he is of the unseen not a tenacious concealer. 24 And it (the Quran) is not the word of the outcast Shaitan (Satan). 25 Whither then go ye? 26 That is but an advice to the entire creation! 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 However, you will not be able to choose anything unless God, Lord of the Universe wills it to be so. 29
