The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun shall be wound round, 1 And when the stars fall, dispersing, 2 And when the mountains shall made to pass away; 3 And when full-term she-camels are neglected 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together; 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 And when the souls shall be joined with their bodies; 7 and when the girl-child that was buried alive is made to ask 8 For what sin she was slain, 9 And when the Records of Account are laid bare. 10 the heavens are unveiled, 11 when Hell shall be set blazing, 12 when Paradise is brought close: 13 then shall each person know what he has brought along. 14 I swear by the receding stars, 15 And by the planets that move swiftly and hide themselves, 16 And the Night as it dissipates; 17 And by the morning when it shineth forth, 18 it is indeed the word of an Honorable Messenger, 19 The mighty, the honoured in the presence of the Lord of the Throne. 20 With authority there, (and) faithful to his trust. 21 And (O people) your companion (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) is not a madman; 22 And he has already seen Gabriel in the clear horizon. 23 and he is not one to begrudge others the knowledge [of whatever has been revealed to him] out of that which is beyond the reach of human Perception. 24 The Quran is not the word of condemned satan. 25 Whither, then, will you go? 26 Verily this is no less than a Message to (all) the Worlds: 27 To whomsoever among you who wills to walk straight, 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Lord of the Universe, so wills it [to show you that way]. 29
