Al-Takweer
The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun is folded up, 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 and the mountains have been taken, 3 And when milch camels roam abandoned. 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 And when the seas are filled with flame 6 And when the souls are paired 7 When the female (infant), buried alive, is questioned - 8 for what offence was she killed? 9 when the scrolls are unrolled, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped off and taken away from its place; 11 And when hell is further enflamed. 12 And when Paradise is brought near. 13 then shall a soul know what it has produced. 14 So verily I call to witness the planets - that recede, 15 Those that run [their courses] and disappear - 16 and the night that falls, 17 and the morning when it extends, 18 Verily, this is the Word (this Quran brought by) a most honourable messenger [Jibrael (Gabriel), from Allah to the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)]. 19 The processor of strength, having an honorable place with the Lord of the Dominion, 20 Obeyed one; then trustworthy. 21 Nor is your companion distracted. 22 And indeed he saw him on the clear horizon. (Prophet Mohammed saw Angel Jibreel in his true shape – peace and blessings be upon them). 23 And Muhammad is not a withholder of [knowledge of] the unseen. 24 And the Qur'an is not the word of a devil, expelled [from the heavens]. 25 Where to are you then heading? 26 This is naught but an admonition unto the worlds 27 So let those who want, choose the right guidance 28 but will you shall not, unless God wills, the Lord of all Being. 29
