The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
When the sun is folded up, 1 the stars are made to fade away, 2 And when the mountains are removed 3 When the she-camels, ten months with young, are left untended; 4 And when the wild beasts are gathered 5 the oceans are brought to a boil, 6 when the souls shall be coupled, 7 and when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was killed 9 And when the pages are made public 10 The curtain drawn back from the skies, 11 When the Blazing Fire is kindled to fierce heat; 12 And when the Garden shall be brought nigh, 13 (Then) every soul will know what it hath made ready. 14 So I swear by the retreating stars - 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 and by the night as it recedes, 17 And the morning when it brightens, 18 [That] indeed, the Qur'an is a word [conveyed by] a noble messenger 19 Owner of strength, of established dignity with the Lord of the Throne. 20 The one who is obeyed, and trustworthy. (Other angels obey angel Jibreel). 21 And your companion is not gone mad. 22 And he has already seen Gabriel in the clear horizon. 23 he is not grudging of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this [message] the word of any satanic force accursed. 25 So where are you going? 26 It is not except a reminder to the worlds 27 To whomsoever among you who wills to walk straight, 28 And you will not, unless (it be) that Allah wills, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 29
