The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
When the sun shall be darkened, 1 And when the stars fall, dispersing, 2 and when the mountains are moved, 3 And when the pregnant she-camels shall be neglected; 4 The wild beasts stampede on the run, 5 and when the seas are set on fire, 6 And when souls are reunited, 7 and when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was slain, 9 When the scrolls are laid open; 10 when heaven shall be stripped off; 11 And when the hell is kindled up, 12 And when Paradise is brought near, 13 (Then) every soul will know what it hath made ready. 14 So, I call the receding stars to witness, 15 Those that run [their courses] and disappear - 16 And by the night as it departs; 17 and the morning when it extends, 18 [That] indeed, the Qur'an is a word [conveyed by] a noble messenger 19 Mighty, established in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 Obeyed and worthy there of trust. 21 Nor is your companion distracted. 22 he indeed saw the message-bearer on the clear horizon; 23 He is not avid of the Unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of a satan accursed. 25 When whither go ye? 26 This is naught but an admonition unto the worlds 27 For whoever wills among you to take a right course. 28 Though you cannot desire except as God will, the Lord of all the worlds. 29
