The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
When the sun is wound up; 1 The stars turn dim and scatter, 2 the mountains are scattered about as dust, 3 When the she-camels, ten months with young, are left untended; 4 The wild beasts stampede on the run, 5 And when the seas are set on fire, 6 And when souls are reunited, 7 And when the girl buried alive shall be asked: 8 for what sin she was killed, 9 And when the Writs shall be lain open, 10 when the sky is unveiled, 11 when Hell is set ablaze, 12 and Paradise is brought near, 13 then every soul will discover the consequence of its deeds. 14 No indeed; I swear by the alternating stars 15 Go straight, or hide; 16 by the night when it approaches 17 and brightening morning, 18 This is indeed the recitation of an honoured Noble Messenger. (Angel Jibreel peace and blessings be upon him.) 19 Owner of power, and high rank with (Allah) the Lord of the Throne, 20 there he is obeyed and held trustworthy. 21 Your Companion is not mad, 22 He certainly saw him (Gabriel) high up on the horizon in his original form 23 he is not niggardly of the Unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of an evil spirit accursed. 25 Where then are you going? 26 This is a reminder for all the peoples of the world, 27 to every one of you who wishes to tread the straight path. 28 Though you cannot desire except as God will, the Lord of all the worlds. 29
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
