The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
When the sun is folded up, 1 the stars are made to fade away, 2 And when the mountains are driven. 3 And when the camels big with young are abandoned, 4 And when wild animals are herded together. 5 And when the seas are set afire. 6 souls are reunited with their bodies, 7 And when the girl-child who was buried alive is asked. 8 for what sin she was killed, 9 and when the scrolls [of men's deeds] are unfolded, 10 And when the heaven is torn away. 11 and Hell is stoked, 12 when Paradise is brought near, 13 Every soul will then come know what it has brought. 14 I swear by the receding stars, 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 and the night that falls, 17 And the morning when it brightens, 18 That this is in truth the word of an honoured messenger, 19 Owner of strength, of established dignity with the Lord of the Throne. 20 obeyed, and honest. 21 Nor is your companion distracted. 22 And indeed he saw him on the clear horizon. (Prophet Mohammed saw Angel Jibreel in his true shape – peace and blessings be upon them). 23 And he is not avid of the Unseen. 24 The Quran is not the word of condemned satan. 25 So where are you going? 26 Verily, this (the Quran) is no less than a Reminder to (all) the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). 27 For whoever wills among you to take a right course. 28 But ye shall not will except as Allah wills,- the Cherisher of the Worlds. 29
