The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun is wrapped up [in darkness] 1 And when the stars shall dart down, 2 The mountains made to move, 3 when ten-month pregnant camels are left untended, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 And when the seas are set on fire, 6 When the souls are sorted out, (being joined, like with like); 7 when the buried female infant is asked 8 For what crime she was killed; 9 And when the books are spread, 10 and when Heaven is laid bare; 11 when Hell is set ablaze, 12 and Paradise brought nigh: 13 [on that Day] every human being will come to know what he has prepared [for himself]. 14 I do not need to swear by the orbiting 15 Moving swiftly and hiding themselves, 16 The closing night, 17 by the dawn sighing, 18 Truly, this is the word brought by a noble messenger, 19 [Who is] possessed of power and with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position], 20 [the word] of one to be heeded, and worthy of trust! 21 (O people of Makkah), your companion is not mad; 22 he truly saw him on the clear horizon; 23 Neither doth he withhold grudgingly a knowledge of the Unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of a satan accursed. 25 Whither, then, will you go? 26 This is a reminder for all the peoples of the world, 27 (With profit) to whoever among you wills to go straight: 28 but your wishing will not avail unless Allah, the Lord of the Universe, so wishes. 29
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
