The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun is overthrown, 1 when the stars shall scatter away, 2 And when the hills are moved, 3 And when milch camels roam abandoned. 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together, 5 And when the seas are set afire. 6 And when souls are reunited, 7 And when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 For what crime she was put to death; 9 when the records of men's deeds are laid open, 10 The curtain drawn back from the skies, 11 when Hell shall be set blazing, 12 when Paradise is brought close: 13 then shall each person know what he has brought along. 14 I swear by the receding stars. 15 orbiting, disappearing; 16 and sit during the day, or by the darkening night 17 by the dawn sighing, 18 it is indeed the word of an Honorable Messenger, 19 [Who is] possessed of power and with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position], 20 Obeyed and worthy there of trust. 21 Your Companion is not mad, 22 he indeed saw the message-bearer on the clear horizon; 23 He is not avid of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this [message] the word of any satanic force accursed. 25 where then are you going? 26 This is naught but an admonition unto the worlds 27 So let those who want, choose the right guidance 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Lord of the Universe, so wills it [to show you that way]. 29
