The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
When the sun shall be folded up, 1 And when the stars shall dart down, 2 and the mountains have been taken, 3 and when she-camels big with young, about to give birth, are left untended, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together; 5 When the oceans surge and swell, 6 When souls are reunited (with the bodies) 7 and when the girl-child buried alive shall be asked: 8 For what crime she was killed; 9 the records of deeds are made public, 10 And when the heaven is torn away. 11 and when Hell is set ablaze, 12 and Paradise is brought near, 13 A soul will [then] know what it has brought [with it]. 14 So by oath of those that revolve. (The planets.) 15 Moving swiftly and hiding themselves, 16 and by the night as it recedes, 17 And the Dawn as it breathes away the darkness;- 18 Verily it is a Word brought by a messenger honoured, 19 The mighty, the honoured in the presence of the Lord of the Throne. 20 With authority there, (and) faithful to his trust. 21 Your companion is not one possessed: 22 He certainly saw him (Gabriel) high up on the horizon in his original form 23 And he is of the unseen not a tenacious concealer. 24 Nor is this the word of an outcast devil. 25 Whither then will you go? 26 It is naught but a reminder for the nations, 27 For the one among you who wishes to become upright. 28 But ye shall not will except as Allah wills,- the Cherisher of the Worlds. 29
