The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun shall be darkened, 1 And when the stars fall down. 2 And when the mountains shall be made to pass away, 3 the young barren camels are abandoned, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 And when the souls are paired. 7 and when the girl-child that was buried alive is made to ask 8 For what sin she was slain, 9 When the scrolls are laid open; 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped off and taken away from its place; 11 when Hell shall be set blazing, 12 And when the Garden shall be brought nigh, 13 A soul will [then] know what it has brought [with it]. 14 Rather, I swear by the returning 15 orbiting, disappearing; 16 and by the night as it recedes, 17 And the Dawn as it breathes away the darkness;- 18 Truly, this is the word brought by a noble messenger, 19 endowed with power and held in honour by the Lord of the Throne -- 20 (One) to be obeyed, and trustworthy; 21 Your companion is not one possessed: 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 nor does he grudge (conveying this knowledge about) the Unseen; 24 And it (the Quran) is not the word of the outcast Shaitan (Satan). 25 Whither then go ye? 26 It is naught but a reminder for the nations, 27 For whoever wills among you to take a right course. 28 And what will you wish, except if Allah wills – the Lord of the Creation. 29
