The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun Kuwwirat (wound round and lost its light and is overthrown). 1 And when the stars fall down. 2 And when the mountains shall made to pass away; 3 when the ten-months pregnant camels shall be abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts are herded together, 5 when the seas are set boiling, 6 And when the souls are paired. 7 And when the girl [who was] buried alive is asked 8 for what sin she was killed, 9 and when the scrolls of (men's) deeds shall be unfolded, 10 When the world on High is unveiled; 11 And when the hell is kindled up, 12 And when the garden is brought nigh, 13 [on that Day] every human being will come to know what he has prepared [for himself]. 14 So I swear by the retreating stars - 15 orbiting, disappearing; 16 and by the night as it recedes, 17 And by oath of the morning when it takes birth. 18 Verily, this is the Word (this Quran brought by) a most honourable messenger [Jibrael (Gabriel), from Allah to the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)]. 19 [Who is] possessed of power and with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position], 20 (One) to be obeyed, and trustworthy; 21 Your companion is not one possessed: 22 And indeed he saw him on the clear horizon. (Prophet Mohammed saw Angel Jibreel in his true shape – peace and blessings be upon them). 23 And this Prophet is not miserly upon the hidden. (Allah gave the knowledge of the hidden to the Holy Prophet – peace and blessings be upon him.) 24 And the Qur’an is not the recitation of Satan the outcast. 25 When whither go ye? 26 This is merely a reminder to all mankind; 27 (With profit) to whoever among you wills to go straight: 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Lord of the Universe, so wills it [to show you that way]. 29
