The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
When the sun is covered, 1 when the stars are thrown down, 2 And when the mountains are driven. 3 And when the pregnant she-camels shall be neglected; 4 the wild beasts are herded together, 5 When the oceans surge and swell, 6 And when souls are reunited, 7 And when the girl-child that was buried alive is asked 8 for what sin she was slain, 9 And when the written pages of deeds (good and bad) of every person shall be laid open; 10 And when the sky is torn away, 11 hell is made to blaze, 12 when Paradise is brought near, 13 (Then) shall each soul know what it has put forward. 14 So, I call the receding stars to witness, 15 Go straight, or hide; 16 and by the night as it recedes, 17 And by the dawn when it breathes 18 that the Quran is the word of the honorable angelic, mighty Messenger 19 [Who is] possessed of power and with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position], 20 there he is obeyed and held trustworthy. 21 Your companion is not possessed; 22 he truly saw him on the clear horizon; 23 nor does he grudge (conveying this knowledge about) the Unseen; 24 Nor is it the word of an evil spirit accursed. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 Verily, this (the Quran) is no less than a Reminder to (all) the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). 27 to every one of you who wishes to tread the straight path. 28 But ye shall not will except as Allah wills,- the Cherisher of the Worlds. 29
