The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
When the sun shall be darkened, 1 The stars turn dim and scatter, 2 And when the mountains are removed 3 And when the camels big with young are abandoned, 4 The wild beasts stampede on the run, 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 when the souls are divided into different classes, 7 and when the girl-child buried alive shall be asked: 8 For what sin she was killed? 9 when the scrolls are unrolled, 10 the heavens are unveiled, 11 And when Hell-fire shall be kindled to fierce ablaze. 12 when Paradise shall be brought nigh, 13 then every soul will discover the consequence of its deeds. 14 No indeed; I swear by the alternating stars 15 And by the planets that move swiftly and hide themselves, 16 by the night when it approaches 17 and brightening morning, 18 That this is in truth the word of an honoured messenger, 19 one mighty and held in honour with the Lord of the Throne; 20 Obeyed and worthy there of trust. 21 Your companion is not mad. 22 And of a truth he saw himself on the clear horizon. 23 And he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) withholds not a knowledge of the unseen. 24 And the Qur'an is not the recitation of Satan the outcast. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 Verily, this (the Quran) is no less than a Reminder to (all) the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 And ye shall not will unless it be that Allah, the Lord of the worlds, willeth. 29
