The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
When the sun shall be wound round, 1 The stars turn dim and scatter, 2 And when the mountains are made to pass away, 3 And when the pregnant she-camels shall be neglected; 4 And when wild animals are herded together. 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 souls are reunited with their bodies, 7 And the little girl buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was slain, 9 And when the pages are made public 10 and when Heaven is laid bare; 11 And when hell is further enflamed. 12 and Paradise is brought near, 13 (Then) every person will know what he has brought (of good and evil). 14 No indeed; I swear by the alternating stars 15 the runners, the sinkers, 16 and by the night as it recedes, 17 and the morn as it softly breathes: 18 This is indeed the recitation of an honoured Noble Messenger. (Angel Jibreel – peace and blessings be upon him.) 19 having power, with the Lord of the Throne secure, 20 With authority there, (and) faithful to his trust. 21 And your companion is not gone mad. 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 He (Muhammad) is not accused of lying about the unseen. 24 The Quran is not the word of condemned satan. 25 So where are you going? 26 It is nothing but Good Counsel for everyone in the world, 27 For whoever wills among you to take a right course. 28 But ye shall not will except as Allah wills,- the Cherisher of the Worlds. 29
