The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
When the sun is overthrown, 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 And when the mountains are driven. 3 And when the camels are left untended, 4 when the savage beasts shall be brought together, 5 And when the seas rise, 6 And when souls are reunited, 7 And when the girl buried alive shall be asked: 8 for what sin she was slain, 9 And when the Writs shall be lain open, 10 The curtain drawn back from the skies, 11 And when hell is lighted, 12 and when paradise is brought into view: 13 (Then) every person will know what he has brought (of good and evil). 14 I swear by the receding stars. 15 that hide, 16 and the night that falls, 17 and the morn as it softly breathes: 18 Verily, this is the Word (this Quran brought by) a most honourable messenger [Jibrael (Gabriel), from Allah to the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)]. 19 The mighty, the honoured in the presence of the Lord of the Throne. 20 Obeyed one; then trustworthy. 21 Your companion is not possessed; 22 he truly saw him on the clear horizon; 23 and he is not one to begrudge others the knowledge [of whatever has been revealed to him] out of that which is beyond the reach of human Perception. 24 And the Qur’an is not the recitation of Satan the outcast. 25 So where are you going? 26 Verily, this (the Quran) is no less than a Reminder to (all) the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). 27 So let those who want, choose the right guidance 28 Though you cannot desire except as God will, the Lord of all the worlds. 29
