The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
When the sun is folded up, 1 And when the stars fall, dispersing, 2 when the mountains shall be set moving, 3 And when the camels big with young are abandoned, 4 when the savage beasts are gathered 5 And when the seas shall become as blazing Fire or shall overflow; 6 when the souls shall be coupled, 7 And the little girl buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was killed, 9 and when the scrolls [of men's deeds] are unfolded, 10 when heaven is stripped, 11 hell is made to blaze, 12 And when Paradise is brought near, 13 [on that Day] every human being will come to know what he has prepared [for himself]. 14 So verily, I swear by the planets that recede (i.e. disappear during the day and appear during the night). 15 orbiting, disappearing; 16 And the Night as it dissipates; 17 And by the morning when it shineth forth, 18 Verily it is a Word brought by a messenger honoured, 19 having power, with the Lord of the Throne secure, 20 (One) to be obeyed, and trustworthy; 21 And your comrade is not mad. 22 he truly saw him on the clear horizon; 23 And he is of the unseen not a tenacious concealer. 24 Nor is it the word of a satan accursed. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 This is a reminder for all the peoples of the world, 27 to every one of you who wishes to tread the straight path. 28 but you shall not, unless Allah wills, the Lord of all the Worlds. 29
