The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun shall be folded up, 1 And when the stars shall dart down, 2 And when the mountains are driven. 3 And when the pregnant she-camels shall be neglected; 4 And when the wild beasts are gathered 5 and when the seas are set on fire, 6 And when the souls are paired 7 When the female (infant), buried alive, is questioned - 8 For what sin she was slain. 9 When the ledgers are laid open, 10 And when the heaven is torn away. 11 hell is made to blaze, 12 when Paradise is brought near, 13 A soul will [then] know what it has brought [with it]. 14 So I swear by the retreating stars - 15 And by the planets that move swiftly and hide themselves, 16 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 17 and the first breath of morning. 18 behold, this [divine writ] is indeed the [inspired] word of a noble apostle, 19 [Who is] possessed of power and with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position], 20 The one who is obeyed, and trustworthy. (Other angels obey angel Jibreel). 21 And your companion is not gone mad. 22 he truly beheld him [the angel] on the clear horizon. 23 And he is of the unseen not a tenacious concealer. 24 And the Qur’an is not the recitation of Satan the outcast. 25 Whither then will you go? 26 That is but an advice to the entire creation! 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 And you do not please except that Allah please, the Lord of the worlds. 29
