The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun is overthrown, 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 and when the mountains are moved, 3 And when full-term she-camels are neglected 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together, 5 And when the seas are set afire. 6 and when all human beings are coupled [with their deeds,] 7 And when the girl buried alive shall be asked: 8 For what sin she was killed? 9 And when the written pages of deeds (good and bad) of every person shall be laid open; 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped off and taken away from its place; 11 And when hell is lighted, 12 And Paradise brought near, 13 Every soul will then come know what it has brought. 14 Rather, I swear by the returning 15 that hide, 16 And the close of night, 17 And the morning when it brightens, 18 Verily, this is the Word (this Quran brought by) a most honourable messenger [Jibrael (Gabriel), from Allah to the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)]. 19 [Who is] possessed of power and with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position], 20 Obeyed there [in the heavens] and trustworthy. 21 Your Companion is not mad, 22 He had surely seen Him on the clear horizon. 23 he is not grudging of the Unseen. 24 This is not the utterance of an accursed devil. 25 Where to are you then heading? 26 Verily, this (the Quran) is no less than a Reminder to (all) the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). 27 For the one among you who wishes to become upright. 28 And what will you wish, except if Allah wills – the Lord of the Creation. 29
