The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
When the sunlight is rolled up. 1 when the stars shall be thrown down, 2 And when the mountains are driven. 3 And when the camels big with young are abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together, 5 and when the seas boil over, 6 when the souls are coupled (to their body), 7 when the buried female infant is asked 8 for what sin she was slain, 9 When the scrolls are laid open; 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped, 11 And when hell is lighted, 12 when Paradise is brought close: 13 [on that Day] every human being will come to know what he has prepared [for himself]. 14 Rather, I swear by the returning 15 the runners, the sinkers, 16 and the night as it darkly falls, 17 and the morning when it extends, 18 That this is in truth the word of an honoured messenger, 19 Owner of power, and high rank with (Allah) the Lord of the Throne, 20 who is obeyed there and is worthy of trust. 21 And your companion is not insane. 22 he truly beheld him [the angel] on the clear horizon. 23 He is not avid of the Unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of an evil spirit accursed. 25 When whither go ye? 26 This is a reminder for all the peoples of the world, 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 But ye shall not will except as Allah wills,- the Cherisher of the Worlds. 29
