The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
When the sun is wrapped up [in darkness] 1 And when the stars fall, dispersing, 2 and the mountains have been taken, 3 when the pregnant camels shall be neglected, 4 And when the wild animals are made to go forth, 5 and when the seas are set on fire, 6 And when the souls shall be joined with their bodies; 7 And when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 For what crime she was put to death; 9 and when the scrolls of (men's) deeds shall be unfolded, 10 when the sky is unveiled, 11 hell is made to blaze, 12 when Paradise is brought near, 13 (Then) every person will know what he has brought (of good and evil). 14 Rather, I swear by the returning 15 Moving swiftly and hiding themselves, 16 And the Night as it dissipates; 17 and brightening morning, 18 truly this is the word of a noble Messenger 19 who is honored in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 Obeyed one; then trustworthy. 21 Your companion is not one possessed: 22 he indeed saw the message-bearer on the clear horizon; 23 Neither doth he withhold grudgingly a knowledge of the Unseen. 24 And the Qur'an is not the word of a devil, expelled [from the heavens]. 25 So where are you going? 26 It is naught but a Reminder unto all beings, 27 For him among you who pleases to go straight. 28 but you shall not, unless Allah wills, the Lord of all the Worlds. 29
