The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun is wound up; 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 And when the mountains are driven. 3 the young barren camels are abandoned, 4 when the savage beasts shall be brought together, 5 the oceans are brought to a boil, 6 souls are reunited with their bodies, 7 and when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was slain, 9 when the records of men's deeds are laid open, 10 the heavens are unveiled, 11 and when Hell is set ablaze, 12 and when paradise is brought into view: 13 (Then) every soul will know what it had prepared (for itself). 14 So I swear by the retreating stars - 15 stars which are visible during the night 16 And by the night as it departs; 17 and the morn as it softly breathes: 18 Verily it is a Word brought by a messenger honoured, 19 Full of power, well-established (in position) with the Lord and Master of the Throne, 20 Obeyed one; then trustworthy. 21 Your companion is not possessed; 22 And he has already seen Gabriel in the clear horizon. 23 and he is not one to begrudge others the knowledge [of whatever has been revealed to him] out of that which is beyond the reach of human Perception. 24 This is not the utterance of an accursed devil. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 This is certainly the guidance for all (jinn and mankind). 27 for whosoever of you would go straight, 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Lord of the Universe, so wills it [to show you that way]. 29
