The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
WHEN THE SUN is shrouded in darkness, 1 The stars turn dim and scatter, 2 and the mountains have been taken, 3 And when the camels are left untended, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together; 5 And when the seas shall become as blazing Fire or shall overflow; 6 when the souls shall be coupled, 7 When the female (infant), buried alive, is questioned - 8 Upon what sin was she killed for. 9 And when the pages are laid open, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped, 11 When Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when Paradise shall be brought near, 13 Every soul will then come know what it has brought. 14 So I swear by the retreating stars - 15 stars which are visible during the night 16 and sit during the day, or by the darkening night 17 And by the dawn when it breathes 18 Truly, this is the word brought by a noble messenger, 19 Owner of power, and high rank with (Allah) the Lord of the Throne, 20 Obeyed there [in the heavens] and trustworthy. 21 And (O people!) your companion is not one possessed; 22 in truth he saw him (Gabriel) on the clear horizon, 23 And he is of the unseen not a tenacious concealer. 24 Nor is it the word of an evil spirit accursed. 25 Whither then will you go? 26 It is nothing but Good Counsel for everyone in the world, 27 to every one of you who wishes to tread the straight path. 28 But ye shall not will except as Allah wills,- the Cherisher of the Worlds. 29
