The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun is wrapped up [in darkness] 1 when the stars shall be thrown down, 2 The mountains made to move, 3 And when the camels big with young are abandoned, 4 The wild beasts stampede on the run, 5 When the oceans surge and swell, 6 And when souls are united, 7 When the female (infant), buried alive, is questioned - 8 For what sin she was slain. 9 when the scrolls shall be unrolled, 10 And when the sky is stripped away 11 And when hell is lighted, 12 And when Paradise shall be brought near, 13 then shall a soul know what it has produced. 14 So I swear by the retreating stars - 15 The stars which rise and set, 16 by the night swarming, 17 And by the morning when it shineth forth, 18 This is indeed the recitation of an honoured Noble Messenger. (Angel Jibreel – peace and blessings be upon him.) 19 who is honored in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 With authority there, (and) faithful to his trust. 21 Your companion (Muhammad) does not suffer from any mental illness 22 And he has already seen Gabriel in the clear horizon. 23 and he is not one to begrudge others the knowledge [of whatever has been revealed to him] out of that which is beyond the reach of human Perception. 24 Nor is it the word of an evil spirit accursed. 25 So whither do you stray? 26 Verily, this (the Quran) is no less than a Reminder to (all) the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). 27 For him among you who pleases to go straight. 28 And you do not please except that Allah please, the Lord of the worlds. 29
