The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun is overthrown, 1 And when the stars shall dart down, 2 And when the mountains are removed 3 And when the camels big with young are abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together, 5 When the oceans boil over with a swell; 6 And when souls are united, 7 When the female (infant), buried alive, is questioned - 8 For what sin she was killed 9 When the ledgers are laid open, 10 when heaven is stripped, 11 And when Hell-fire shall be kindled to fierce ablaze. 12 And when the Garden is brought nigh, 13 (Then) shall each soul know what it has put forward. 14 I do not need to swear by the orbiting 15 And by the planets that move swiftly and hide themselves, 16 The closing night, 17 and the morning when it extends, 18 that the Quran is the word of the honorable angelic, mighty Messenger 19 Owner of strength, of established dignity with the Lord of the Throne. 20 Obeyed one; then trustworthy. 21 Your companion (Muhammad) does not suffer from any mental illness 22 he truly beheld him [the angel] on the clear horizon. 23 And this Prophet is not miserly upon the hidden. (Allah gave the knowledge of the hidden to the Holy Prophet – peace and blessings be upon him.) 24 Nor is this the word of an outcast devil. 25 So where are you going? 26 Verily, this (the Quran) is no less than a Reminder to (all) the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). 27 For him among you who pleases to go straight. 28 And ye will not, unless (it be) that Allah willeth, the Lord of Creation. 29
