The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun is covered, 1 When the stars fall, losing their lustre; 2 And when the mountains are driven. 3 when the pregnant camels are neglected, 4 And when the wild beasts are herded together, 5 And when the seas shall become as blazing Fire or shall overflow; 6 and when all human beings are coupled [with their deeds,] 7 and when the girl-child that was buried alive is made to ask 8 For what crime she was killed; 9 when the records of men's deeds are laid open, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped off and taken away from its place; 11 And when hell is lighted, 12 And when Paradise is brought near, 13 A soul will [then] know what it has brought [with it]. 14 So I swear by the retreating stars - 15 the runners, the sinkers, 16 by the night swarming, 17 and the morn as it breathes. 18 Truly, this is the word brought by a noble messenger, 19 Full of power, well-established (in position) with the Lord and Master of the Throne, 20 Obeyed and worthy there of trust. 21 Nor is your companion distracted. 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 He (Muhammad) is not accused of lying about the unseen. 24 The Quran is not the word of condemned satan. 25 where then are you going? 26 That is but an advice to the entire creation! 27 for whosoever of you who would go straight; 28 but your wishing will not avail unless Allah, the Lord of the Universe, so wishes. 29
